Every entry in this guide is read through the same quiet sequence. These four notes are how we begin to look at a place before we write a word about it.
01 · The Entrance
How the approach feels — driveway, porte-cochère or riverfront walk — sets the tone. We note whether the arrival is ceremonial or deliberately plain.
02 · The Rooms
We describe rooms as places to sleep and look out from, not as inventories. Light, outlook and the relationship to public floors matter more than fixture lists.
03 · The Dining
Dining is recorded as part of the stay’s rhythm — breakfast rooms, evening floors, the distance between kitchen and lobby — without naming menus we cannot verify.
04 · The Grounds
Surroundings finish the picture: water, prairie, golf fairways or a downtown street. The landscape is treated as a co-author of the stay.
